Wine Kanakaris Winery - Vinified at a controlled temperature, Kanakaris’ Assyrtiko retains the rich aromatic expression and liveliness characteristic of this ancient white grape variety, native to the island of Santorini. Made exclusively from Assyrtiko, one of the most renowned Mediterranean varieties in Greece, the 2025 vintage is characterised by its temperate climate, the influence of the Ionian Sea, the altitude of the vines (between 850 and 950 metres) and its terroir of limestone soils mixed with sand from ancient seabeds. Partially aged on lees, this dry, fresh and crisp white wine opens with aromas of peach, exotic fruits and hints of citrus. A fragrant and invigorating structure that carries through to the finish, with a lovely salinity. Classified as a PGI ‘Pentes d’Aigialia’ (the local appellation), the Assyrtiko High Altitude Vines 2025 possesses that iodine-tinged tension characteristic of Greek white wines, in perfect harmony with its maritime terroir in the Peloponnese.
