Wine Tenuta Belguardo - Mazzei - This Vermentino Superiore showcases the full richness of the Maremma Toscana DOC. Made from four Vermentino clones originating from Corsica and Sardinia, planted on undulating land in the municipality of Grosseto, just ten kilometres from the sea, Belguardo V embodies the finest qualities of this famous Mediterranean white grape variety: complexity, flavour, minerality and ageing potential. Grown in a vineyard with loose, sandy soil composed mainly of sandstone, half is vinified on the skins for six months, primarily in amphorae, and half on the lees in stainless steel vats. The result is a wine of great aromatic richness, blending ripe citrus, white fruits and flowers, with notes of butter and a refreshing salty, mineral touch. The palate, silky, textured and juicy, stands out for its precise balance between roundness, tension and liveliness. Serve very chilled as an aperitif, accompanied by antipasti, smoked trout or a scallop carpaccio. Here is a great Vermentino!
