Cannonau di Sardegna - Costera 2023 - Argiolas
Wine Argiolas - Made primarily from Cannonau vines, a local red grape variety similar to Spanish Grenache, blended with a touch of other indigenous varieties, Argiolas Costera reflects the wild beauty of its island. Grown on clay-limestone soils in southern Sardinia, on the outskirts of Cagliari, the grapes are hand-harvested early in the morning, then fermented in concrete vats and aged in small oak barrels for 8 to 10 months. Offering a fine expression of the Sardinian grape variety, the 2023 vintage reveals aromas of cherry and plum on the nose, with a hint of vanilla and black pepper. The palate, both warm and round, fresh and fruity, displays a fine balance, supported by silky tannins. Excellent with roast lamb or suckling pig, this Cannonau di Sardegna DOC will also pair perfectly with spaghetti topped with grated pecorino.
