Chianti Classico Gran Selezione - La Pieve 2021 - San Felice

Wine San Felice - Grown on the limestone and marl soils of Castelnuovo Berardenga, a town near Siena renowned for its great red wines, the ‘Gran Selezione’ La Pieve cuvée exemplifies the finest Chianti Classico wines: certified as such, long-aged, and dedicated to Sangiovese (with a small addition of indigenous varieties here). Aged in French oak barrels for 24 months and then in bottle for a further 8 months, La Pieve 2021 displays the finesse, structure and aromatic richness of its appellation and vintage. With an intense ruby colour, it reveals aromas of cherry and blackcurrant on the nose, with notes of violet, blood orange and a gentle spicy, woody and smoky flavour. On the palate, the fruity flavours persist, with a full-bodied and well-structured mouthfeel, characterised by ripe, silky tannins, supported by lively acidity and a long finish with mineral notes. A delicious wine, which will reach its full harmony by 2040.
