Its name, adopted in 1863, draws inspiration from Anglo-Saxon trends and the poetic world of Baudelaire. Managed by Céline Villars since 2000, this historic estate continues to produce wines that are both powerful and elegant, marked by an exceptional terroir. This Château Chasse-Spleen 2022 comes from vines planted on a gravelly hilltop in the Grand Poujeaux area, an ideal terroir for producing wines of great depth and smoothness. The region’s climate, combined with high-quality soils, yields grapes of exceptional richness. Although temperatures have reached record highs, the Château Chasse-Spleen 2022 withstands these extreme conditions. An early harvest, followed by beneficial rainfall, ensures ripe, concentrated grapes, promising a full-bodied, rich and highly elegant wine.
