L'Abbaye 2021 - Domaine de L'Ancienne Cure
Wine Domaine de l ’Ancienne Cure - Named in homage to the presbytery, formerly known as la cure, LAbbaye reflects the elegance and power of the Pécharmants of the South-West. The name Pécharmant comes from Pech for hill and charmant, evoking the charming hill where the vineyard flourishes. This 2021 vintage, a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Malbec, is aged in new oak barrels for 12 months, with aeration and stirring, to develop structure and complexity. On the nose, it captivates with its subtle oak and elegant profile, whilst the palate is dense and fresh, dominated by fruit and silky tannins. The finish harmoniously balances fruit and structure, offering a Pécharmant of great class, to be enjoyed now or kept for up to 12 years. Ideal with hare stew, duck pie, leg of venison or rib of lamb, this organic red embodies the expertise and finesse of the Ancienne Cure terroirs.
