Les héridaines 2023 - Domaine Lelais

Wine Domaine Lelais - This “Les Héridaines” cuvée reveals all the finesse of Chenin Blanc, also known as Pineau de la Loire. At Domaine Lelais, the grapes come from a south-east facing clay-limestone hillside, an ideal terroir allowing the grape variety to reach full ripeness whilst retaining freshness and balance. Vinification is followed by nine months’ ageing in 2,000-litre casks. This large-capacity vessel refines the wine’s texture whilst respecting the expression of the fruit and terroir. The wood thus complements the wine with subtlety, adding complexity and roundness without masking the Chenin’s natural freshness. In the glass, the wine reveals a tender and generous profile. The nose opens with aromas of peach and pear, accompanied by delicate vanilla notes from the ageing process. On the palate, the balance between fruit and woody sweetness creates a full-bodied and harmonious sensation, prolonged by an elegant finish. A delicious white wine that will pair perfectly with pre-dinner drinks, sushi, fish in sauce, poultry or cheese.
