Wine Domaine Vial - Close to their terroir in the Côte-Roannaise and their family vineyards (currently converting to organic farming), inherited in Saint-André-d'Apchon in the Loire department, brothers Philippe and Jean-Marie Vial are contributing to the revival of the appellation. This is evidenced by this very nice Marquis, made from a plot of old vines planted by their grandfather (in 1957-1958), with granite soil dominated by manganese. Vinified using a long fermentation process and aged in concrete vats for six months, this 100% Gamay Noir à Jus Blanc red wine – the local grape variety – draws its depth and nobility from the soils of the Massif Central. On the nose, the red fruits are ripe and expressive, nuanced with vegetal and spicy notes. The palate is balanced, both fresh and supple, marked by fine tannins and a beautiful length. An authentic and elegant wine from winemakers.
