Wine Plaimont - This Madiran reveals a new and unexpected expression of Tannat. On the clay-and-gravel slopes, the grapes are harvested at perfect ripeness and then gently processed, much like an infusion, to preserve the fruit’s freshness and finesse. Aged in vats and partly in large oak casks, it offers delicately integrated tannins and a rare elegance for the appellation. On tasting, its brilliant garnet colour heralds a rich nose of cherry and raspberry. The palate, fresh and balanced, surprises with its lightness and smoothness, a far cry from the traditional style of Madiran. Modern and approachable, this wine is best enjoyed slightly chilled, ideal as an aperitif or when sharing a meal, to rediscover Tannat in a new light.
