Noto Rosso - Doppiozeta 2021 - Zisola

Wine Zisola - Mazzei - Produced from the three finest plots of the Zisola estate, near Noto (in the Sicilian province of Syracuse), the Noto Rosso Doppiozeta 2021 pays homage to the historic birthplace of Nero d’Avola. This local grape variety, the most widely planted red, is enhanced by the limestone and mineral-rich soil of the organic vineyard. The grapes, harvested by hand and macerated on the skins for over 30 days, are fermented naturally in small stainless steel vats, without the addition of yeasts or temperature control. This is followed by ageing for over 16 months in barrels (50% of which are new) and a final maturation of over 4 months in concrete vats. This meticulous winemaking process preserves the intense and pronounced aromas of spices and fruit in the Nero d'Avola, alongside a powerful yet elegant texture. A well-rounded and beautifully crafted wine, ideal for enhancing a dinner with friends.
