Riesling - Loiserberg 2023 - Domaine Weszeli

Wine Weingut Weszeli - Overlooking the vineyards around Langenlois, the Loiserberg hillside is one of the most spectacular sites in the Kamptal. At an altitude of nearly 380 metres, the vines sink their roots into poor soil composed of gneiss and mica schist, covered only by a thin layer of humus. This austere terroir is, however, ideal for Riesling, a grape variety capable of accurately expressing the minerality of the rock. Sunny days allow the grapes to reach full ripeness, whilst the cool nights slow down the ripening process and preserve a vibrant acidity. The late harvest thus produces a wine that is both concentrated and full of energy. This Riesling reveals a precise nose of stone fruit and delicate flowers, enhanced by a hint of herbaceous notes. On the palate, nuances of citrus and stone highlight the wine’s mineral tension. Sleek, compact and perfectly structured, it lingers on a saline and luminous finish, the hallmark of great terroir Rieslings.
