Wine J. Lohr Vineyards & Wines - Riverstone 2023 Chardonnay has enticing aromas of ripe citrus, white nectarine and baking spices. Scents of lemon chiffon cake and wet stone are the most engaging on the nose. The palate begins with salivating acidity and a stony texture, giving relief to the richer flavours of cream and vanilla-meringue that emerge. The rich texture and balanced acidity on the palate, derived from barrel ageing on the lees, accentuate the flavours of ripe Meyer lemon, citrus cream, hazelnut, and a touch of oak on the long finish. This is a full-bodied Chardonnay, round and delicately buttery without any heaviness.
