Wine Il Poggione - Rosso di Montalcino 2023 is a more accessible version of Brunello, with excellent structure and great drinkability. Made entirely from Sangiovese grapes from the estate’s younger vineyards, the Rosso di Montalcino is aged in large casks and barrels before a period of bottle ageing. Barrel ageing, although not mandatory for the production of Rosso di Montalcino, softens the tannins typical of a young Sangiovese and gives this red wine an aromatic complexity and structure that make it a great ‘young Brunello’. A ‘small’ wine from a very great estate that does not disappoint!
