Sancerre rouge 2022 - Domaine J. De Villebois

Wine J. De Villebois - Made from Pinot Noir grown on the clay-limestone soils typical of Sancerre, this Sancerre from Domaine J. De Villebois expresses all the finesse and elegance of the grape variety in this great Loire terroir. The grapes, selected from the finest plots, are carefully tended in the vineyard to control yields and encourage excellent aromatic concentration. After complete destemming, fermentation takes place in vats with maceration lasting around three weeks. Regular pumping over and punching down gently extract the colour and tannins, thus preserving the balance and delicacy of the Pinot Noir. Ageing, carried out partly in oak barrels sourced from local forests, adds a touch of complexity and structure whilst respecting the expression of the fruit. The wine thus reveals an elegant profile, characterised by aromas of fresh red fruit, a supple texture and fine precision. A harmonious red Sancerre, which accurately reflects the character of its terroir.
