Saperavi Rouge 2024 - Tavankari

Wine Tavankari - Tavankari is an ancient Georgian word meaning the highest quality. Made from the Saperavi grape, grown in the Mukuzani micro-region of Kakheti, this wine is produced using the traditional, centuries-old method of Kakheti, which involves fermenting the grapes in a Qvevri (Georgian clay jar) for three months before transferring them to French oak barrels, without the addition of yeast. It has a deep garnet colour with the distinctive aromas typical of this grape variety, dominated by cherry and cedar. On the palate, it is harmonious with a balance of velvety tannins. This wine is excellent with roast meat, game and mature cheese.
