Wine J. De Villebois - This Touraine Chenonceaux reveals all the finesse of Sauvignon Blanc grown on exceptional Loire terroirs. For this second vintage from the Saint-Romain plots, J. De Villebois has successfully preserved the quality of the grapes despite challenging weather conditions. The grapes were harvested at perfect aromatic ripeness to capture all the freshness and purity of the fruit. A small portion of the wine ferments in one-year-old barrels, whilst extended ageing until spring refines the structure and adds subtle complexity. The colour is a luminous lemon yellow. The nose opens with aromas of fresh white fruit – apple and nectarine – accompanied by citrus notes and a delicate hint of spice. On the palate, the texture is crisp, juicy and intensely fruity, carried by a lovely liveliness. The finish, mineral and briny, lingers elegantly with a subtle hint of spice.
