Wine Geografico - Piccini 1882 - The Vernaccia di San Gimignano DOCG “Borgo della Terra” is made from grapes of the same variety, grown on the sandy, pebbly soils characteristic of this appellation, one of the first to be granted in Tuscany. Halfway between Siena and Florence, at the foot of the hill overlooking the famous fortified town of San Gimignano, the Geografico estate produces a Vernaccia DOCG across 60 hectares, vinified and aged in steel to preserve the aromatic character and freshness of this popular grape variety, which has been grown at the foot of the town’s towers since the 13th century. On the palate, the 2025 vintage, dry and fresh, develops a subtle bouquet of white flowers and citrus, underpinned by a pleasant roundness. The finish, with good length, is highlighted by a typical almond note.
